Soreen came to me with a beautifully simple proposition: “We’ve got a script about a singing loaf, and we want to rewrite a-ha’s banger The Sun Always Shines on TV.”
Obviously, I jumped at the chance.
It had everything I love: an iconic British malt loaf, a completely committed musical premise, dogs, different rigs, and one very demanding lead performer made mostly of malt.
We shot the whole thing in a day, which was ambitious, especially given the talent. I’ll admit, I was mildly intimidated at first, but the loaf turned out to be very down to earth.
No malt loaves were harmed in the making of this commercial.
